Why Fraternities should be off suspension

At the moment roughly half of all the fraternities are suspended on campus. This is limiting the fraternities from being able to perform simple tasks to withhold and improve the fraternities itself. The Fraternities are unable to perform out of state formals, were unable to participate in homecoming, also on suspension they are not supposed to meet and have chapter or elections, along with pledge education for pledges attempting to become new members. This is a problem because it is ruining Greek life at the University of Iowa and setting up these chapters for failure in the future.

I am currently pledging to be a member in the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and the suspension has been hard for us causing many problems. It's affecting the life of the Fraternity and everyone is scared to do normal things that we would normally do. It's a hard time and it has caused us to miss rituals and most important bonding time within the fraternity  

• Not having chapter
• Not aware of upcoming events
• Not aware of this that happened in the past
• Hurts chances to have an involved fraternity
• Not aware of charity
• No pledge education
• Pledges are not aware of rituals
• Are not learning how to be active members
• Not learning about the history
• Not learning phrases, songs, and chants
• Causes panic
• Lack of leadership
• elections, unable to vote executive positions
• Fear of being kicked off campus
• Inability to meet as many active members

Solution

There are many problems within greek life and suspensions for most fraternities including mine will be off suspension next semester however, the university rules will still be an issue

To conclude the fraternities should break away because they will not lose any funds and all that will come from it is the university being unable to limit the fraternities from doing things that they do and are supposed to do on a regular basis
